For this project in Amsterdam, I designed the complete interior for a couple who aren’t afraid of color. We worked on the entire home, including the living room, bedroom and a completely new bathroom. The design was worked out in detail with floor plans, furniture, lighting, colors and materials, together with 3D renders to show what the spaces would eventually look like.

There are lots of details in this project that make it stand out. Statement furniture, colorful lighting, wallpaper and unexpected combinations all have a place in the design. We also completely redesigned the bathroom, where color and materials were just as important as they were in the rest of the house.
The clients wanted a home with lots of color, but without it becoming too much. We used a mix of bold colors, prints and different materials throughout the house, balanced with quieter elements in between. Each room has its own look, while certain colors and materials return in different places throughout the home.
The result is a colorful and unique home that really fits the people living there. I loved being able to make some bolder choices in this project and use combinations you don’t see in every interior. It’s exactly the kind of project where color can completely change the feeling of a space.
